Eddie Hearn, the face of Matchroom boxing, has organized several entertaining boxing events with other promoters. In a recent interview, he criticized Stephen Espinoza, the president of Showtime Sports, and supported Conor McGregor for taking a dig at Espinoza in the past.

Hearn discussed multiple issues, including the difficulties a promotion company faces while setting up an event. Meanwhile, he also shared an incident during the fight between Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant when he met Espinoza.

He described the bitter attitude of Espinoza when Hearn approached him during the vent.

While describing the incident, Hearn said, “I thought I’ll just go and say hello. And I went over to him and I went Stephen. How are you? And he went (a crooked face) and walked off and won’t shake my hand.” In addition, Hearn said, “And I just thought, just thought back to Conor McGregor. You know the Mayweather presser and I was like yeah, yeah. But that’s, that’s like the pettiness of that is unreal and but that’s what exists in the business.

During the press conference, McGregor fulminated Espinoza multiple times. While ranting about Espinoza, McGregor addressed him as a ‘weasel’ multiple times during the press conference.

Significantly, it didn’t stop here. The Irish fighter and Espinoza took their beef to a Twitter as well.

Well, the latest statement from Eddie Hearn suggests that he understands why Conor McGregor thrashed Espinoza, while Hearn himself criticized Espinoza for his unusual behavior.
