Eddie Hearn is one top-graded promoter in boxing right now, as he has some of the most prolific fighters under his wings. A few days back, Hearn’s Matchroom Sport inked a 2-fight deal with the pound-for-pound king of boxing, Canelo Alvarez. The Mexican boxer’s inclusion in Matchroom’s roster has raised the promotion onto a different level.
Recently, in a podcast with Toe 2 Toe with Sky Sports, Hearn shed some light on both Canelo’s inclusion in his promotion. He even drew comparisons between the super middleweight champion, ‘Canelo’ and the heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua.
Speaking to them he said, “‘AJ’, for me, is someone that impresses me more and more every day. In fact, spending time with Canelo Alvarez, the two are very similar. Not in terms of fighting style, but in terms of mindset, love of the sport, and their willingness to improve, and their willingness to create a legacy.”
