Hearn spoke to Matchroom Boxing before the fight and explained why both boxers are different. He said it was very difficult to read ‘Chocolatito’ ahead of the fight. However, he added,

“I mean the guy is sort of, you know, mopes around and so polite and nice. Estrada seems to have the bit between his teeth. This is the guy that’s chased revenge for 8 years rather than the guy who won the fight 8 years ago.”

This showed Hearn’s observation of the fighters ahead of their rematch. He then revealed that ‘Chocolatito’ took the fight only because the fans wanted it and the money was right. Moreover, he revealed that ‘El Gallo’ was trying to get into the head of Gonzalez, but the Nicaraguan was having none of it.

Eddie Hearn gives his prediction

As the promoter of both fighters, many expected Hearn not to give a prediction for the fight. However, after building it up as a 50-50 contest, the Englishman gave his prediction for their bout.

Hearn said, “Now I do think, this is probably as close a 50-50 fight you can get. I give the slight edge to Juan Estrada in this fight.” He then pointed out his freshness, his recent activity, and fights as the reasons he favors him over ‘Chocolatito’.

Despite this, it is clear that Hearn knows how close the fight could be. Although Estrada goes into the contest as the favorite, it would be no surprise if Gonzalez beats him. Therefore, this is a fight that fans cannot afford to miss.
