Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has been part of a lot of controversies. The Chairman of Matchroom Sport is known for being blunt and open about his feelings and perspective. Hearn is not the one to shy away from a verbal altercation. But recently, Hearn has been brought into the spotlight, not for his blunt personality. Conor Benn, a welterweight boxer on Matchroom’s roster, tested positive on VADA’s doping test before his fight with Chris Eubank Jr. in October 2022.

Conor Benn failed his drug test last year. But, recently, the WBC ruled that Benn’s elevated consumption of Eggs is why he failed the test. This is good news for Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Sports, but not everyone is happy with the update.

In an interview with Behind The Gloves, former European heavyweight champion Derek Chisora discussed the news of Benn being relieved of the failed drug test. Chisora said, “All you kids out there don’t eat too much eggs. I am gonna stop eating eggs.” Furthermore, he added, “Eddie Hearn paid for that. Because right now, Matchroom does not have a big draw on Dazn.”
