However, despite both fighters admitting they would want the fight to happen, Hearn has said why it won’t happen. Ina chat with iFL TV, the promoter said, “Ryan is mandatory for Devin. DAZN want Haney v Garcia. The only person who doesn’t want Haney v Garcia, is Garcia.”
Thus, with this comment, Hearn shifted the blame onto ‘KingRy’ and his camp. Many fans hoped the fight would happen as the two have clashed outside the ring on multiple occasions. These interactions gave fans a glimpse of the bad blood between the two and could have sold a ton of PPVs.
However, it now seems that the fight will not happen next and, fans will have to wait for any of the top four lightweights to fight each other.

Eddie Hearn addresses the possibility of Ryan Garcia ducking Devin Haney
The promoter did not stop at explaining why the fight would not happen. Hearn addressed the accusations that have come at Garcia for ducking Haney. Which ‘The Dream’ has said.
“If he ends up fighting ‘Tank’ or Pacquiao, no problem. If he fights Fortuna, for a quarter of the money, if he’s going to fight Devin Haney, is that ducking? I don’t know. Someone else can make up their mind,” said Hearn.

These comments showed that the promoter implied it, but refused to say it. He said this since Garcia had reportedly agreed to a fight against Gervonta Davis and then shifted to fighting Manny Pacquiao. However, even that seems to have fallen through, and reports suggest he could fight Fortuna.
