Following a ninth-round TKO win against Katharina Thanderz, ‘Belter’ Terri Harper retained the WBC and IBO super featherweight titles. She brought her best game inside the ring and left no doubts for the critics.

While she continues to be the unbeaten world champion, her recent opponent Katharina Thanderz faced the maiden loss of her pro career. Having failed to claim the titles, Thanderz came incredibly close. She had her moments in the fight and pushed the champion to the corner on multiple occasions. However, ‘Katy’ still couldn’t walk away with the win.

Harper appeared ready with her answers to Thanderz’s questions throughout the fight. As promised, she was ready for a war and looked comfortable in going the distance. That said, ‘Belter’ was more technical in the latter rounds. She landed prominent shots and used her range brilliantly to outpoint Thanderz.  This is what the fight looked like.

Terri Harper is a monster inside the ring

Thanderz showcased a championship mindset in the fight and ate some lethal shots from the champion. She still remained on her feet and advanced with some brutal exchanges.

However, it didn’t appear to be a problem for Haper, who had seemingly decoded her opponent. She escaped Thanderz’s best shots and responded with action. Keeping a commendable distance and utilizing her reach, Terri Haper showcased an A-list game plan from her end.

In round nine, Harper aimed towards the body and inflicted a ton of damage on her opponent. While Thanderz was already being beaten in a one-sided exchange, the referee called off the fight.

This was a huge win for her career, and she has proven herself to be a top-rated boxer once again. Despite that, she will have several other big challenges ahead. While ‘Belter’ will celebrate her win tonight, WBO super featherweight champion Mikaela Mayer already set her eyes on a champion vs champion fight.

After the fight, Matchroom director Eddie Hearn has posed his opinion over the super featherweight title holders. He too cited a unification fight between Mayer and Harper. Hearn said, “I want to see Terri Harper the undisputed next year.”
