Andy Ruiz Jr. became a household name of the sport after brutally defeating Brit legend Anthony Joshua. It was ‘AJ’s first career loss and the ‘Destroyer’ landed it in style. However, in their rematch, Joshua settled the score by beating Ruiz with a unanimous decision.

That said, Ruiz has moved on from the past and is gearing up for a sturdy 2021. He left his previous coach and collaborated with Canelo Alvarez’s trainer and promoter, Eddy Reynoso.

In a conversation with Boxing Junkie, Reynoso opened up on Ruiz’s comeback and what’s it like training him.

You haven’t seen the best of him yet. He can give much more, even more than he gave in the first Joshua fight. He has a lot of ability, which he has already shown against the best heavyweights in the world,” said Reynoso.

The (objective) is to do things well so when he comes back, you’ll see the real Andy Ruiz.”

Reynoso asserted that the ‘Destroyer’ has all the skill sets in the bag required to be a world champion. He feels Ruiz just needs to get his discipline in line and he’ll be one scary prospect yet again in the gigantic men’s division.
