Ever since his debut, Edgar Berlanga has made it to the top of news headlines. He has fought 16 times and finished all his opponents via T/KO.

Being a sturdy contender in the super- middleweight division, he is keen on making his way to the ultimate gold. In order to reach the pinnacle, Berlanga will have to face some resilient fighters.

‘The Chosen One’ already has a couple of names in his mind whom he wishes to take on. One is fellow Puerto Rican, Gabriel Rosado, and the other one is David Benavidez.

He said, “Shout-out to Gabe Rosado, We could probably make that fight happen for the people, for Puerto Rico. For Puerto Rican Day weekend, we could make something happen.”

‘The Chosen One’ seemed ecstatic to touch gloves with Rosado in his next bout. He believes the two Puerto Ricans can make a great fight for their nation, grabbing the attention of the entire world.

When asked about the mighty Benavidez fight, he said:

“That’s an amazing fight, man, Benavidez, a great fight for me.”

He concluded with, “But before I get to him, I gotta prove myself. I gotta get some rounds in and prove myself to the critics. Not just them, but for myself.”

Gabriel Rosado or David Benavidez? Who is an ideal opponent for Edgar Berlanga?

Berlanga, 23, is unranked in the 168-pound division as of now. He’s young and an extremely intimidating prospect in the super-middleweight roster. At the current position of his career, Gabriel Rosado is the perfect fight for him.

Though Berlanga exhibits sublime skill sets, the Benavidez fight shouldn’t be on his cards for now as the latter races ahead in experience and rankings when compared to the Puerto Rican. ‘The Chosen One’ should fight a couple more times to gain rankings and exposure in the super-middleweight roster first and then challenge Benavidez.
