Emanuel Navarrete Knocks Out Christopher Diaz in Round 12 to Retain the WBO Title

Emanuel Navarrete successfully defended his WBO featherweight title by knocking out Christopher Diaz in the final round of their headlining collision. However, it wasn’t an undemanding night for the champion. Over the course of the 12 rounds, Diaz had his moments inside the ring and had troubled Navarrete throughout.

Both men landed flush shots and had poleaxed each other on several occasions, but Navarette had a slight advantage as he secured some valuable knockdowns. As fans felt that the judges would be required to make a decision, the champion decided to end things on his terms.

‘Vaquero’ Navarrete had Diaz reeling and rained blows on him until he staggered to the canvas. Hence, he walked away with a massive win, a world title, and a Knockout under his name.

The 12-round featherweight clash began with integrity as both men looked sharp. They began landing the power punches right from the start. However, Navarrete found some early success with a knockdown in round four. He outboxed Diaz smartly and scored some valuable points. Initially, it seemed to be a lopsided show, but Christopher Diaz bounced back to thrill the fans.

He poured some crisp combinations on his opponent and seemed like a threat to Navarrete’s WBO strap for a moment. Moreover, Diaz had the will to fight and despite falling short several times, he kept coming back. The fight could have been a short-lived collision. However, it lived up to the hype as both men dragged the best out of each other.

In the final round, Diaz had very little to offer and was left weary and bloodied. But he recovered from a scratchy knockdown and continued boxing. It seemed fruitful for a moment until Navarrete unleashed another heated combination to feed his challenger to the canvas.
