He wrote, “Im getting fixed ill comeback when ready 😮,” revealing that the retirement is off the table for now. Spence assured everyone that we will see him back in the ring again, something that he has been saying for a long time now. Even last month, when a fan asked him about his eventual comeback on ‘X,’ he replied with the same answer.

The 34-year-old has found it hard to make a comeback, which has been marred with several obstacles—an eye surgery, failure to get any match secured, a car accident that he is still recovering from—things have not been easy for Spence. However, yesterday, the former unified welterweight champion disclosed another personal demon that might have been the actual culprit behind his return to boxing. ‘The Truth’ took to his ‘X’ and wrote, “The worst thing I did to MYSELF was drinking. If you’re an athlete, focus on the end goal,” he wrote, adding further, “Hopefully it’s a better situation for you and your loved ones.” It was indeed a courageous confession. Though we may never know the entire picture, his alcohol addiction might have surely contributed to his almost two-year sabbatical from boxing.

The confession even melted the heart of his former friend Gervonta Davis, who had a fiery confrontation with the Texan last year. “I felt this..I hope you and your lil ones doing well champ..” Tank replied hopefully. It was a rare, heartwarming gesture from Davis.
