Errol Spence Jr. Predicts He’ll Retire Manny Pacquiao, Terence Crawford Fight Still a Possibility

WBC/IBF titlist Errol Spence Jr. has been respectful towards his upcoming opponent, Manny Pacquiao, throughout the build-up of their fight.

However, that doesn’t reduce the competitiveness amongst the boxers. Still, unbeaten, Spence Jr. has predicted himself to be Pacquiao’s last opponent as a pro fighter.

That said, he might be the one to retire Manny Pacquiao, the only eight-division champion in boxing. The fight is officially scheduled to happen on August 21 and Spence Jr. has already envisioned it to be Pacquiao’s farewell bout.

While Jermell Charlo and Bran Castano collided in the recent Showtime PPV, ‘The Truth’ spoke with Brian Custer at the event to talk about his upcoming welterweight title unification clash.

“I think he [Manny Pacquiao] will definitely retire after this fight,” said Errol Spence Jr.

Meanwhile, he is also open to facing WBO champion Terence Crawford, a fight that can break several records at the Box Office. Spence Jr. and Crawford were rumored to fight several times. However, it never happened.

That said, Spence Jr. had claimed to move up a division, only after facing Manny Pacquiao and Terence Crawford at 147 lbs. While Pacquiao is already his next opponent, Spence Jr. is also optimistic about facing Terence Crawford somewhere down the line.

The welterweight roster is deep with many elite boxers on board. But Spence Jr. and Crawford are the unbeaten titleholders So, an in-ring scrap between them makes the most sense.

However, Spence also has a tough test in Pacquiao, and only after that, he can look into the other possible matchups.

Apart from Spence Jr’s WBC and IBF belt, the Ring 147 lbs world title would also be up for grabs. So, it brings more attention to the high-voltage collision.

While Pacquiao would try to prove his worth against a modern-day warrior, Errol Spence Jr. would try to add a legendary name to his resume.
