Errol Spence Jr. Says Bob Arum Treats Terence Crawford Like Property: ‘I Feel Like He Don’t Really Respect Terence’

One of the biggest drawbacks of modern boxing is the lack of fights between champions. Thanks to the presence of different sanctioning bodies, titleholders can continue to reign as champions without facing the best. And the best example of this is the situation surrounding Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford.

Both fighters are undefeated and world champions. Moreover, they have a rivalry and are constantly snapping at each other. In addition, fans and experts want to witness the two battle it out in the ring. However, the fight is yet to happen, and now Errol Spence Jr. has lashed out at ‘Bud’ and his promoter Bob Arum.

The 27-0 boxer spoke to the Barbershop Conversations on YouTube and claimed Arum and Crawford don’t share a good relationship. He said, “I think that Bob treats him like any owner treats his athlete, you know. Treats him like he’s property or something like that.”

The Truth’ then added, “I feel like he don’t really, you know, respect Terence like that. He’s just basically trying to get anything, any type of money he can get out of him, he’s gonna get out of him. And I think Bob’s probably frustrated with him so he says those things. But you know, I feel like they don’t really have a relationship like that.”

Why is Errol Spence Jr. questioning Bob Arum and Terence Crawford’s relationship?

The comments from the unified champion will surprise no one, given the verbal warfare between the two. However, there is a specific reason Spence Jr. is questioning their relationship?

Crawford and Arum got into a public spat after the last bout. The promoter said he is making a loss by promoting ‘Bud,’ and the champion fired back by asking Arum to let him go. In addition, many expected Arum to make the Spence Jr. and Crawford bout.

However, according to ‘The Truth,’ Arum and Crawford demanded too much, and thus, the bout fell through. Therefore, Spence Jr.’s comments showed he feels Arum does not have a personal relationship with ‘Bud,’ and thus, does not give him the fights he wants.
