Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford are two of the best boxers in the world right now. There have been only a few who have been as dominant as these two, with many claiming that they will be the second coming of Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. However, despite the two being in similar divisions, a bout between them has eluded fans for what seems like forever.

Earlier this year, the bout was very close to being finalized. However, talks fell through at the last moment as Crawford will now be facing David Avanesyan on Dec. 10 in Omaha instead. The fight is expected to air on streaming service BLK Prime, according to ESPN. This has led many to wonder if this fight could ever possibly be booked.

Matchroom CEO Eddie Hearn doesn’t think that will be the case as he labeled this fight unachievable. In an interview with the DAZN boxing show, Hearn touted Bivol vs. Beterbiev as the best fight in boxing. However, the co-host disagreed with Hearn, claiming that it was Crawford vs. Spence that was the best fight to book.

The British promoter quickly dismissed this and stated that the fight will never be booked. “you know for now that’s sort of unachievable, I think.” said Hearn

Hearn seemed confident that this bout wasn’t going to be booked anytime soon. Moreover, given his experience as a promoter, Hearn does have a lot of knowledge about the inner workings and contractual aspects of the sport.

Eddie Hearn trashes Terence Crawford vs David Avanesyan

Hearn was not shy to comment on ‘Bud’s’ upcoming match against David Avanesyan. In an interview with FightHype TV, Hearn stated that Crawford needed to fight to stay active in the division and that the audiences certainly did not want to see him face Avanesyan. “I mean look, sooner or later Crawford has to fight. He’s been out for a long time. It’s obviously disappointing for boxing. Crawford vs. Avanesyan is a fight that no one wants to see.” Said Hearn.

Hearn feels that although Crawford needs to stay active, a match with a contender not on his level was not the right choice. However, as has been the case with boxing, fights like Crawford vs. Spence rarely happen or take a long time to get booked.

What did you think about Crawford vs Spence being dismissed by Hearn? Let us know in the comments.
