On October 9, Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury rolled out one of the greatest heavyweight fights of the modern era. Fans predicted one-sided dominance in favor of ‘The Gypsy King’. However, the ex-champ turned the tables when he dropped the Briton twice on the canvas.

Although Wilder failed to leave the ring with a win and the WBC belt, he still earned an extensive amount of respect from fans and fighters around the globe.

Not only Wilder, but Fury also received respect from boxing purists and fans. Moreover, many bigwigs termed this fight as the greatest of all time. But recently, Evander Holyfield had some shocking words about the Wilder vs Fury trilogy.

‘The Real Deal’, in an interview with Blue Blood Sports TV, ranked his trilogy with Riddick Bowe over the Fury vs Wilder trilogy.

He said, ‘‘Of course I’m always think that Riddick Bowe and I, we were both Olympians and we did real well. And you know it was skillful boxing. They did what was necessary for to entertain the people and they entertained people. But you know, but the art of the game of boxing is to hit and not to get hit.”

Holyfield fought Bowe thrice and lost twice. In the retro boxing era, these three encounters between Holyfield and Bowe ranked among the best boxing bouts of all time. That said, ‘The Real Deal’ in his above comments stayed firm on the difference between his fights and Fury vs Wilder 3.
