Evander Holyfield and Mike Tyson might appear good friends now as they plan to stage an exhibition trilogy in the coming days. However, their relationship began with a heated-rivalry that saw them drag each other into controversies.

Following a win over Tyson in their first encounter, Holyfield agreed to a rematch but ended up losing a piece of his ear. The entire world saw the infamous bite fight happen as Mike Tyson bit off a piece Holyfield’s ear. However, Holyfield wanted to return the favour and desired to bite off Tyson’s face.

In an interaction with Brian Custer, ‘The Real Deal’ opened up on the incident and said, “He (Mike Tyson) tipped the piece of my ear, a piece of it all. But at that time, I already forgave him because, in the ring, I would get ready. I am getting ready to bite him back. I am going to bite him back in the face and I will go right there. But you know my trainer was saying, keep your mind on the lord.”

Nevertheless, Tyson and Holyfield cleared the differences between each other and built their friendship after retiring from boxing. Today, they are two of the prime heavyweight historians alive in the boxing community.
