We are less than two months away from seeing Amir Khan take on Kell Brook in a high voltage welterweight clash at the Manchester Arena in the UK. Both men have already thrown shade at each other and aren’t on good terms in any way. That being said, only an in-ring affair can project the better fighter between them.

As the 35-year-old former world champions haven’t fought for over 2 years, their lengthy lay-offs may see them have to contend with ring rust on February 19.

However, Amir Khan is already optimistic about his performance and has predicted extreme violence in the ring.

In an exclusive chat with FghtHype.com, ‘King Khan’ said, “There’s been bad blood there for a very long time and the bad blood is only going to make it more interesting because we are not going to go in there as friends. We are going to go in there to win and obviously going to hurt one another.”

“I mean, at the end of the day, it’s a good sport and we are going to go in there and it’s going to be war. We are not friends, I can admit that and when we go in there, we are gonna be. Every punch is gonna be hurtful.”

Amir Khan vs Kell Brook can be a top-tier slugfest

The matchup was rumored to happen several years back when both men were in their primes. Even though both pugilists have gone past their prime, we can still expect an intriguing contest between two knockout artists who are quite close in terms of height and reach. Khan’s 34-5 pro-resume shows 21 KOs; Brook holds 27 KOs in 39 wins and 3 losses.

Interestingly, Khan and Brook have also claimed most of their wins via stoppages. This assures that both the contenders will try to land a KO. Their attacking intent has led to defensive vulnerabilities, resulting in both men having suffered most of their losses via knockout as well. Could there be another KO on the cards? Looks likely.
