Anthony Joshua is set to reclaim his titles from Oleksandr Usyk at their showdown in August. Moreover, it was recently reported that Joshua will cut ties with Sky Sports after 9 years.

Sky Sports had streamed the entirety of Joshua‘s career, ever since he turned pro. Matchroom Boxing CEO and Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, had ended his 25-year association with Sky Sports in 2021.

Moreover, he signed a USD 122.8 million deal with DAZN Boxing and even brought all his fighters on board. However, Joshua was the only exception, as he had a separate contract with Sky Sports. It is reported that this contract ended after his match with Usyk in September 2021.

Sky Sports had tried to re-sign Joshua. But, he signed the deal with DAZN instead. Notably, his first fight with DAZN will be his rematch with Usyk. Moreover, Joshua’s deal with DAZN is a multi-year, multi-fight deal. Additionally, he will also be required to have two fights in a year.

Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk

Eddie Hearn had recently announced that the Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk showdown is scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia. Additionally, this rematch will give Joshua the opportunity to reclaim his heavyweight titles.

Joshua had initially faced Usyk at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on September 25, 2021. He showcased a stellar performance during the bout. However, Usyk proved to be technically stronger than Joshua. At the end of 12 rounds, Usyk was declared the winner by decision.

Moreover, in victory, he won Joshua’s WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles.
