In an exclusive interview with ‘Behind the Gloves’, ‘Sweethand’ said, “I’ve had time to reflect and you know I know the things I need to tighten up on the things that you know that was a big atmosphere and not that it was too big for me but there were some things that I wish I could have done better.”

“Some of those things he negated, some of the things I negated myself but that’s a great experience that’s stuff that you can’t buy so I’m looking to keep racking up that experience with these other big fights and then like I said get that rematch.”

A look at the first match between Caleb Plant and Canelo Alvarez

The action-packed clash between two super middleweight champions in their prime landed on November 6, 2021, at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise, Nevada.

The Mexican unified WBA (Super), WBC, IBF, WBO, and The Ring titles at super-middleweight by stopping ‘Sweethand’ in the 11th round with the lethal combination of right cross and left hook. Alvarez put Plant down twice in the same round.

However, the fight started well with Plant scoring with a jab and keeping himself safe from the power punches of the p2p king. He put on a nice display of footwork, won a few rounds, and frustrated Alvarez. Unfortunately, Plant could not continue his strategy. As the fight went deeper, he slowed down and the Mexican icon amped up his game.

Alvarez checked Plant’s defense smartly and hurt him with body shots and hooks. Finally, exhausted, Plant got caught on the ropes and the fight came to an end.

Undoubtedly, ‘Sweethand’ gave a tough battle to Alvarez. So there may be a probability that they collide again.
