Is it possible Mike Tyson is scared of something? Yes! Processed food scares him. In a recent appearance at the VAULT Conference Interview featuring Patrick Bet-David, Tyson unraveled a vital message about processed food.

At 57 years of age, the youngest heavyweight champion in the history of boxing suffers from a debilitating condition. It’s called sciatica, and it causes pain radiating along the sciatic nerve. For the most part, Mike Tyson is able to keep it under wraps because of a better lifestyle. Hence, he shared a very important message with his followers.

During the interview, an audience member sought advice from Mike about leading a healthier and fuller life. In response, Tyson claimed he loves to exercise. But he also eats clean. “I don’t believe that much in diet – I believe in not eating, you know, processed food,” said Tyson.

The former champion went on to suggest that besides processed food, everything God has put on Earth is good to consume. “Everything else that God made is good, but processed food. You can’t even pronounce the ingredients in the goddamn food now, right? You don’t know what they giving you,” he opined.

Further, he explained how he likes to get in some physical exercise so that he feels good mentally as well. However, that isn’t a surprise. At the peak of his career, he used to train 60 hours a week before fights and rest on Sundays. But now, suffering from sciatica, physical exercise and sometimes, even speaking, can be difficult for him.

Mike Tyson claimed his illness makes it difficult for him to talk

As per reports from back in 2022, Tyson was spotted in a wheelchair at the Miami International Airport. When asked about being confined to a wheelchair, the former heavyweight champion revealed he has sciatica.

“I have sciatica every now and then, it flares up. When it flares up, I can’t even talk,” Mike Tyson told Greta Van Susteren in the 2022 interview. Later in the interview, Mike seemed grateful that the only thing he seems to be grappling with is that particular issue. “Thank God it’s the only health problem I have.”

One take at a time

The first time boxing captured my attention, it was because of a line I heard in the film 'Rocky Balboa', a film surrounding boxing. The line went like this, "But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.
