Shakur Stevenson is a new hotspot in the world of boxing. Following a weigh-in fiasco ahead of his Friday showdown in his hometown of Newark, New Jersey, the 25-year-old became a subject of criticism.

Now he will likely have to bear the wrath of his fans, who were eagerly waiting for his hero to smoke out the ring for the second time this year. His unprofessional step undoubtedly shattered their expectations. But one hater seemingly crossed the line amid the weigh-in controversy, which led to many reactions from other fans online.

A fan named Rob- BoxingShrew mocked the Olympic Silver medalist by sharing a video that showed Stevenson crying after losing in the gold medal match at the Olympics.

He mentioned Stevenson’s official weight of 131.6 pounds which resulted in the drama.

As soon as the clip circulated on social media, fans came in support of Shakur Stevenson. Many criticized the making of such a meme out of the emotional video.

Following the failure to make weight, the Olympic Silver medalist has been stripped of his WBO and WBC super featherweight titles. Fortunately, he will still square off with Robson Conceicao on the scheduled date and venue.

However, he could not retain his titles. On the other hand, if Conceicao wins the bout he will take the belts back home.

After this controversy and heavy criticism, Stevenson announced that he will move up in weight class because now it was hard for him to maintain his body at 130 pounds.
