Gervonta Davis will defend his WBA (Regular) lightweight title against Rolando Romero on May 28. Meanwhile, both fighters almost got into a brawl after ‘Tank’ Davis pushed ‘Rolly’ Romero off the stage during their face-off after the weigh-ins.

Both the fighters successfully made the weight for the fight. After his weigh-in, Davis proceeded to flex for the media cameras. Romero also followed suit and, but flexed in front of ‘Tank’ and partially blocked him from the view of the cameras.

This irritated Davis, who then pushed ‘Rolly’ off the stage. An infuriated Romero rushed back in to attack ‘Tank’, but was held back by his teammates on the stage.

Meanwhile, Davis’ team also came in between to shield him from Romero’s wrath.

Fans react to Gervonta Davis pushing Rolando Romero

Boxing fans were on the edge of their seats after seeing the tense moment between the fighters. Moreover, they took to social media to let their thoughts be known.

User @adas_2012 felt that Davis was left shaken after ‘Rolly’ retaliated.

Similarly, user @dazrou81 also felt that ‘Tank’ looked scared after Romero came back.

User @vicmurillo620 also felt that Davis hid behind his team after pushing Romero.

However, user @_dr84 felt that the push showed that Davis was far superior in strength to Romero. Moreover, he also mentioned that ‘Rolly’ would not last long in the ring with the champion.

User @BNzBon felt that ‘Tank’ Davis got into Romero’s head.

But, user @slimdunk850 felt that things could have taken a more serious turn. The user also felt that the action could have caused grievous bodily harm to Romero.

There were a few light-hearted fan reactions as well.

@ProdigalSR quoted Bruce Lee by using his iconic line from the movie Enter the Dragon. The user emphasized the importance of never taking one’s eyes off the opponent.

However, User @bullyboib01 was surprised by the sheer multitude of people on stage. He hilariously even mentioned that the local cleaner might have been on stage.
