Jake Paul has waited a long while for his proposed bout against Tommy Fury. However, the Fury family’s travel bans have put the status of his fight in jeopardy. It was recently reported that Paul is finalizing a deal with a new opponent.

Fury was denied a visa to enter the United States. Moreover, Paul was on a quest to find another opponent after the news came to light. As Sports Illustrated reported, Paul is currently finalizing a deal with Hasim Rahman Jr.

Notably, Rahman Jr. is the son of former world heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman, who held both the unified and lineal titles in 2001. Additionally, Rahman Jr. is coming into the bout with an impressive record of 12-1-0 with 6 knockouts. The duo will face each other at Madison Square Garden in New York on August 6, 2022.

Fans react to Jake Paul facing Hasim Rahman Jr.

Boxing fans were intrigued by Jake Paul’s new matchup. A lot of fans took to social media to share their thoughts.

User @igwejimmiri revealed that Rahman Jr. is a far more dangerous opponent than Fury.

A few users felt that Rahman Jr. is a much better opponent with a good chance of beating Paul. In fact, user @therealfitpro even added that unless the fight is ‘fixed’ Paul has no chance of defeating Rahman Jr.

Meanwhile, user @blakjordanbreen added that Paul is finally fighting a ‘legit boxer’. Moreover, he also mentioned that since Rahman Jr. is still an upcoming boxer, Paul is the perfect opponent.

A few users mentioned that nobody will buy the PPV for the fight. However, user @genzinsightsinc added that the fight will be massive only if Paul wins and later faces Nate Diaz.

But a few users mentioned that Rahman Jr. was not a good boxer. In fact, a user even mentioned that he will never make a living as a boxer.

However, a few users mentioned that boxing fans have been too hard on Paul. Moreover, they stated it was not Paul’s fault that Fury backed out of the bout. The users were also sure of Paul’s victory in the bout.
