The 12-0 heavyweight spoke on the Ringside Toe2Toe Podcast and said, “Oh man, Alen Babic is a clown, you know. He’s a…. He only use my name to go in the Croatian newspapers, because, you know, he’s [just] anybody and I am someone in Croatia. And he only mentions my name to get in the newspapers.”

This comment showed that the 6’6” heavyweight pays no attention to the talk from Babic. Hrgovic then added, “But, he’s funny, you know. He’s not a boxer with great talent. He reached his limit. Okay, he beat Tom Little, and I think that’s his limit. He’s not a boxer who can go to the top or something like that.”

What did Alen Babic say about Filip Hrgovic?

These comments show the genuine rivalry between the two heavyweights. Moreover, it showed that Hrgovic, who does not rate his compatriot’s skills, claims the latter has already peaked. So what did Babic say that attracted this response from the ‘Stone Man?’

The 6-0 heavyweight recently spoke to SkySports and gave a fiery interview of his own. He called Hrgovic ignorant and questioned who he beat. Babic also said, “It’s terrible that he’s in this place to fight for such a big fight. He’s not grateful, he’s ignorant.” He then called for a fight against Hrgovic.

Things like this only add to the excitement in the division. While both Babic and Hrgovic are talented, it will be interesting to see if their paths ever cross. However, it will be no surprise if Babic is Hrgovic’s next opponent since Michael Hunter pulled out of the title eliminator.

What do you make of these comments from Filip Hrgovic? Do you think he’s right about Alen Babic?
