This rematch was booked for late 2020 itself, but the Russian succumbed to COVID-19. Consequently, this rematch had to be pushed ahead. Recently, the ‘Body Snatcher’ spoke to Fight Hub TV on this pertaining juncture.

He said, “I don’t know man, this is boxing and people play games and chained all his mind and mess and all of that. So who knows if he was sick then I’m glad he’s alright, I’m glad he’s okay. If he wasn’t, then f**k him.”

In their first fight, Dillian Whyte was an abrupt favorite, and he fared the way everyone expected him to. He even dropped Povetkin twice in the fight, but the bout slid off his hands when he fell prey to the ‘Russian Vityaz’s brutal uppercut.

Whyte was left unconscious on the canvas and the fight finished in round 5. This loss not only put a dent on ‘Body Snatcher’s title fight aspirations, but also put a fleck on his pro-boxing resume. However, the Brit, fortunately, earned a rematch with his foe and will know that this will be his biggest bout yet.

Can a rift with Alexander Povetkin help Dillian Whyte give his best in this fight?

Ever since Whyte suffered a brutal loss to Povetkin, he wanted the rematch. Furthermore, his cosmic beef with the ‘Russian Vityaz’ has assisted him in pushing the limits in preparations for this fight.

Despite this, the prime motivating factor for him is that this fight will confer the winner with the WBC interim heavyweight belt. Thus, a title shot will be just one ring walk away.

Whyte wants to give it his best shot in this fight and get his hand raised. If he claims a win this Saturday, needless to say, Whyte will relax until he gets his hands on the champion.
