Claressa Shields continues to clash with Most Valuable Promotions and its roster of fighters. Ahead of her July 26 bout against Lani Daniels at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena, Shields is now calling out the promotion for what she describes as ongoing disrespect, as she issued all their female boxers, including Amanda Serrano, a bold challenge.
MVP, Amanda Serrano, and Claressa Shields have butted heads before, but Shields’ latest challenge to the MVP women’s roster stems from an entirely different issue. You see, a while back, sports broadcaster Ade Oladipo appeared in the Ariel x Ade Show on DAZN Boxing, where he proposed a rematch between Shields and Savannah Marshall, who is now signed with MVP.
“I think Claressa Shields, pound-for-pound, is the best female fighter there is,” he said. Oladipo claimed Shields is a level above the kind of fighters she is fighting now, urging MVP to put aside the politics to make the rematch. “MVP just signed Savannah Marshall. Can we get this on again, please? Can we put all the politics to the side about this?” he added.

This didn’t seem to have sat well with Shields, who responded to the statement, writing, “Man don’t start no s**t man.! I already whooped on Marshall…” Shields also added that she is not willing to bow down to MVP to make money, writing, “I’m not kissing MVP a**. I’m cool.” Fast forward to yesterday—Helwani dropped a new interview with Claressa Shields on The Ariel Helwani Show, where he pressed the 30-year-old about her response to Oladipo.

“She was a knockout artist 12-0, 10 knockouts, I was 12-0, 2 knockouts, and I kicked her a**,” Shields explained the reason behind her response, suggesting there’s no need for a rematch. She went as far as to issue a challenge to every female boxer MVP has signed, stating, “You know, all the girls on MVP, I can beat all of them.” It’s worth noting that MVP has signed several female boxers recently.
Their new and improved roster includes Alycia Baumgardner, Dina Thorslund, Ramla Ali, Naomy Valle, Chantelle Cameron, and Savannah Marshall, among others. Regardless, the question is, why does Claressa Shields have such hostility against MVP?

Claressa Shields highlights the disrespect from the MVP and Amanda Serrano
Sometime ago, Most Valuable Promotions tried to portray Serrano as the ‘GWOAT’ (Greatest Woman of All Time). Shields claimed the rights to using that moniker belong only to her, resulting in a verbal tussle between Serrano and the three-weight undisputed champion on X. It also seems to be the foundation of Shields’ issues with the promotion. When asked why Shields refuses to work with MVP during the same interview with Ariel Helwani, the undefeated champion claimed, “They’re disrespectful as an entire brand.” She later revealed that she used to have a lot of respect for Amanda Serrano “way before anybody came along.”
What’s your perspective on:
Can Claressa Shields truly defeat every female boxer under MVP, or is it just bravado?

Claressa Shields claimed she used to attend Serrano’s fights “on my own dime, my own time, and I’ve given support.” However, she feels that when MVP came into the picture, “they just came out of the gate like, forget Claressa Shields, Amanda Serrano is the real deal ‘GWOAT,’ she’s the real ‘GWOAT’.”

It appears Claressa Shields remains as brash and loud as ever, unwilling to take any disrespect. But the question is—do you think Shields can beat every female boxer in MVP’s current roster?
