The IBF international welterweight title fight between Maxim Prodan and Florian Marku stayed true to the hype generated around it. Both the fighters went all guns blazing against each other and offered a fight worth watching. But in the end, it was Florian Marku’s night, who attained a significant split decision win.

The fight began on a positive note for the champ, Prodan, as he connected a few right hooks in the first round itself. Marku, on the other hand, used some good movements to dodge his adversary’s punches. Slowly, Marku began throwing his jabs to check the distance.

The challenger capitalized on his jabs in the later rounds and kept the champ on his toes. Prodan later began pressing Marku with his wild hooks and he even had him on the ropes. The champ even struck his foe with a slick combination of straight rights and hooks in round 2.

The underdog Marku then replied with some noteworthy jabs, and power-packed left hands. But he couldn’t really stagger his rival with his power. The underdog, however, enjoyed his moments in round 3.

As the fight went on, Marku improved, in the later rounds, and he certainly tested Prodan’s defense. Using his reach, the southpaw boxer landed some fiery jabs to stun Prodan. Marku figured out his opponent’s style, and he kept counter-attacking with some impressive punching speed.

Prodan seemed not to be doing as well in the later rounds, and it seemed like he was finding it difficult to hammer Marku. The champ, however, brought some pace in round 6, wherein he came out with some quick jabs.

The contest between these two only elevated as both the boxers unveiled all of their weapons in the concluding rounds.

Prodan, who only pressed in the early rounds, improved his defense subsequently. He even cut the distance well to land his best strikes on Marku. But the challenger, too, controlled the fight substantially well with his prime weapon, jabs.

Both the boxers went full throttle in round 10, and the scuffle between the two technicians turned out way better than expected. Both the fighters did everything that was in their favor to keep the fans hooked in throughout the fight.

But in the end, it was Marku, who proved his mettle to one and all with a gratifying win.
