Floyd Mayweather, 45, Insisted Amir Khan, 35, Not to Retire in Hopes of a Potential Fight: “Floyd Said to Me ‘Look, We Should Get It On.’”

Amir Khan, who made significant achievements in boxing, recently announced a sudden retirement from the sport at age 35. In his latest interview, he threw some light on his recent encounter with Floyd Mayweather, where ‘Pretty Boy’ gave him a surreal suggestion to revoke his retirement. 

When Amir Khan bumped with Mayweather in Dubai, UAE, they had a decent conversation where both the retired boxers paid their respect to each other.

According to reports by The Sun, when Mayweather met Khan, he insisted on a match. Mayweather said, “Look, we should get it on.”

To which Khan replied, “Brother, tomorrow I’m going to announce my retirement.”

Mayweather didn’t have any idea about Khan’s retirement. But still, ‘TBE’ insisted and asked Khan to drop his retirement plans. He said, “No, I don’t think you should.”

Well, years after chasing Mayweather, Khan finally got a chance to fight ‘Pretty Boy’. But Khan already made up his mind to take a leave from the sport.

King‘ Khan became famous at a very early stage of his life. He proved his worth first when he bagged a silver medal at the Olympics in 2004 when he was just 17.

Before that, he also won the world championship, which indicates that he had a great career in amateur boxing.

Moreover, at a very young age, he became a world champion when he defeated Oisin Fagan to claim the vacant WBA lightweight title.

17 years after his professional boxing debut, he finally announced retirement from the sport, and the fans will remember him as one of the most entertaining boxers of his era. 

Now, that Khan announced his retirement, Mayweather asked him to come back and consider the proposal to fight Mayweather, which will bring a lot of attention to the boxing fraternity.
