The sport of boxing has paved the way for the rise of some of the biggest names in combat sports. These demigods of boxing can even be considered some of the hardest athletes on the planet. Floyd Mayweather Jr, on the other hand, has cemented his position on boxing’s very own Mt. Olympus. And he has a reason to believe that he might be one of these demigods.

Mayweather was at the press conference for his upcoming fight against Deji. The press conference that took place in London saw a rather toned down and respectful exchange when compared to Mayweather’s often explosive press showdowns.

Deji even revealed that his only dream on fight night is to ‘land a punch‘. Mayweather also expressed his desire to make his UK debut with a fight in February 2023. He said, “I never got to come over here and actually fight here when I was actively fighting. Hopefully, in February we can come over here and do an exhibition if it’s possible.”

However, what stood out was his exchange with iFL TV.  He compared himself to the legends of boxing, by saying, “You’ll never see another Floyd Mayweather. You’ll never see another Muhammad Ali, you’ll never see another Mike Tyson, you’ll never see another Sugar Ray Leonard. And the list goes on and on.”

With some powerful performances under his belt. It seems like Mayweather surely deserves a place amongst these demigods of boxing.

The upcoming Floyd Mayweather vs. Deji showdown

Floyd Mayweather’s last tango was in Japan, where he showcased a sensational performance against Mikuru Asakura. And boxing fans were curious to know what might be in store for the boxing superstar.

On September 14, 2022, it was reported that he will face YouTuber turned-boxer, Deji. Notably, Deji is the brother of KSI. The fight is scheduled to take place at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, on November 13, 2022.
