Both the boxers have been world champions in many weight classes and are well known for their skills. Veteran boxing referee Joe Cortez might be the right man to decide the better athlete between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, since he has watched them evolve closely. Mayweather is arguably known as the best boxer of this era, but Cortez is the person to place Pacquiao over him.

Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao- Who you got?

Pacquiao has explored more weight classes than Mayweather and is the only octuple champion in the sport. Thus, Cortez comfortably picked him over the ‘Money May’ in a recent interview.

Talking about it, he said, “I would have to go with Manny Pacquiao, winning all those championships and different eight weight divisions. Bantamweight, super bantamweight, featherweight, super featherweight, junior (super) lightweight, lightweight, junior welterweight, super welterweight. I mean, he has so many titles.”

Meanwhile, he couldn’t ignore Mayweather’s undefeated run. Retiring undefeated and undisputed is rare; Mayweather is one of the very few men with the accomplishment.

Cortez said, “But you know Floyd Mayweather was undefeated. He didn’t went to many weight classes. But he had a good four-five weight classes. He has always been one of the better ones. He never got beaten and Manny Pacquiao has got beaten several times, three or four times.”

Pacquiao has desired to return to the ring soon. Meanwhile, Mayweather has also teased his return against Logan Paul. However, none of the elites has confirmed their returns.
