Floyd Mayweather accused of not paying employees at LA Gym

According to a report from the Daily Mail, employees at Floyd Mayweather’s Los Angeles gym have accused the boxing legend’s ‘Money Team’ company of failing to pay them for weeks. The workers staged a protest outside the gym on Highland Avenue, holding signs that read, “The $ Team has no $” and accusing the company of “modern-day slavery.”

“We’re out here just letting everybody know that they have not been treating us right,” one employee said. The disgruntled staff also allege violations of the California Labor Code, which mandates timely wage payments. Workers claim the gym is being shut down due to unpaid rent, leaving them unable to cover their own bills.

“Who knows if [Mayweather’s] aware or not? We don’t,” another worker added. Mayweather, who has earned over $1.2 billion in his career, has yet to comment on the allegations.

That being said, Floyd Mayweather seems to be in a giving mood as he announced the giveaway with his new partnership with Jaws Podiatry. However, at the same time, his employees at the LA Gym are failing to make a living due to nonpayment of wages. What do you think about the contrasting situations?
