Floyd Mayweather is one of the most straightforward personalities in the boxing space. He never shies away from voicing his opinion, irrespective of the outcome that it might generate. That said, he always takes a stand for people he’s close to, and once Mayweather showed his love and respect towards the ex-heavyweight king, Mike Tyson.
Mayweather shares high regards for ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’. And in an old interview with Fox Sports, ‘TBE’ went after Mike Tyson haters.
He said, “Well, I commend Tyson because he’s one of the guys that paved the way for me to be where I’m at.”

“You know he’s a legendary champion and the only thing I have to say about Mike Tyson is, everyone is always trying to judge Mike Tyson. He lived his life the way he wanted to live his life. No one can say how, what they would have done if they were in his shoes.”
Tyson, back in the 1990s, was the biggest boxing star. He rose to fame real quick with his highlights, like knockouts, terrifying in-ring persona, and a vibrant lifestyle.
While on one end, ‘Iron’ Mike inspired many budding boxers. However, a lot of fans didn’t like him for the kind of life he lived, and the attitude he possessed.

That said, Mayweather, being a Tyson fan, gave his candid opinion, and he rightly backed ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’. With this, it’s clear that Tyson and Mayweather share nothing but great respect for each other.

Just like Tyson, Mayweather witnessed a cracking boxing run. Both the men literally changed the entire boxing vertical forever, inspiring many to lace up the boxing gloves. The sport will never really get stars like these two in the coming time.
