Gervonta Davis had mentioned that he will be parting ways with his promoter, Floyd Mayweather Jr. after his fight with Rolando Romero. Meanwhile, Eddie Hearn revealed that he would try to offer Davis a chance to sign with Matchroom Boxing.

Hearn was in an interview with the iFL TV. In conversation, the interviewer asked him his thoughts on the Gervonta Davis knocking out Rolando Romero.
In response, Hearn said, “I’ve seen the knockout. Gervonta Davis is a superstar. You know you saw the crowd there.”
He further added that Davis is at that point in his career where he takes his career into his own hands. And, that he should focus on gaining knowledge about the revenue he is generating.

Moreover, Hearn also expressed his desire to work with Davis. He said, “I think he’s now going to take control of his career. And obviously, if he’s available, then we would love to work with him.”
He mentioned that he is still unsure if Davis is his ‘contract’, stating that emotions are always high post fights. However, Hearn added that he will be reaching out to Davis.
Gervonta Davis the Floyd Mayweather prodigy
Gervonta Davis was a long-time prodigy of former world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. Moreover, he was signed to Mayweather Promotions for nearly 7 years.

Mayweather had first noticed Davis during Adrien Broner’s training camp in 2015. The duo struck a deal, and he was able to sign Davis to his promotional company the same year.
Davis won multiple titles while fighting under the Mayweather Promotions banner. In fact, he won the first title of his career. IBF super featherweight title against Jose Pedraza, in 2017, barely two years after signing with Mayweather.
