Floyd Mayweather has named the next great Welterweight, according to him. Mayweather recently went on an interview spree, where he answered a range of questions from his own plans, as well as reacting to everything that is going on in boxing. Mayweather came on record to take the name of a young Welterweight prospect, asking everyone to keep an eye out for him.
Per Michael Benson, Mayweather said: “I’ll come on record and say that kid Jaron Ennis, ‘Boots’, don’t sleep on him. Don’t sleep on him, helluva fighter.” Jaron Ennis is an unbeaten Welterweight prospect. The 24-year-old has fought 28 times professionally, with no losses and no draws to his name. Out of his 28 wins, 26 of them have come via knockout.

‘Boots’ boasts of an impressive 89.66% KO percentage. He last fought in October this year when he dismantled Thomas Dulorme in the very first round.
Less than two minutes into the round, ‘Boots’ dropped Dulorme with a left hook followed by an overhand right. The combo was enough to send Dulorme buckling to the canvas, and the referee had seen enough, and stopped the fight.

However, with champions like Yordenis Ugas, Virgil Ortiz Jr., and veterans like Keith Thurman in the division, ‘Boots’ will have to prove himself by taking on one of the big names in the division if he wants to get a shot at the title.

Floyd Mayweather's face will forever be on the WBC's famous green championship belt 'cause the organization has added Money's portrait … joining Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson. https://t.co/30r7gw5wCc

The WBC belts have portraits of different boxers for different weight classes on their belts. The heavyweight belt, for example, has photos of Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis on it as well as a photo of Sulaiman’s late dad José Sulaiman. This gesture by the WBC is warranted because Mayweather is one of the greatest boxers ever and he held WBC belts in multiple divisions for years.
