This has led many to wonder if he will face the rising star of influencer boxing, Jake Paul. The former YouTuber turned boxer has made a name for himself in the new wave of the sport where social media stars are facing professional fighters. Moreover, he has also issued many challenges to Mayweather showing his willingness to fight ‘Money’.
Floyd Mayweather responds to Jake Paul’s challenge
Despite Paul’s many call-outs, Mayweather feels that Paul is yet to be tested in the ring. In the build-up to his bout with Deji, Mayweather stated that although the Ohio-based boxer has managed to garner the attention of audiences, his in-ring fights have not been at par.
” Like I said, for what he’s doing. It is what it is, it’s a lot of talk. Once he faces a real fighter, who can really fight, it’s over for him. So he’s got to enjoy it while he can. Is he doing well? Absolutely, for what he’s doing. Guys in their 50s, guys in their 40s, of course.” said Mayweather.
Moreover, he also added that if offered, Paul would jump on to face him as well. “Does he want to fight me? Of course, I’m almost 50, of course he wants to fight me,” he added.

“Stop asking me about Jake Paul, you guys. I don’t give a sh*t what Jake Paul does. I know you love this sh*t, and I know it gives you clicks, but come on. Come on. The guy has nothing to do with my business. He has nothing to do with my business.” said White. Paul certainly has created a few foes as he rises up through the ranks. However, this might just be what he planned as the greatest weapon Paul has is his ability to draw fans and instigate reactions to further popularize himself.
