Canelo Alvarez has had numerous sensational bouts in his career. Fights between the Mexican and his opponents are very enjoyable as fans can see fair and hard fighting by Alvarez. But, regarding the most challenging opponents ‘Saul Alvarez’ has faced in his professional career, the list is long as the champ has proved his caliber as one of the greatest boxers ever to tighten the gloves. But, recently, it seems like Alvarez has snubbed his difficult fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr to name a much more challenging opponent he has faced in his professional career.

Recently, in an interview, Canelo Alvarez named the most difficult opponent he faced and no it is not the former five-division world champion.

Canelo picks “bigger” opponent than Mayweather Jr

In an interview with FIGHT HUB TV, Canelo Alvarez was asked who, according to him, was a harder opponent between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Dmitry Bivol. Even though this is not an easy choice, Alvarez took a difficult decision and said, “I think both are similar. But, Bivol is bigger. So, I think Bivol.”

The result of both these aforementioned fights went against Canelo Alvarez as Mayweather Jr and Bivol are the two boxers who handed the ‘Cinammon’ his only two career losses.

It’s been more than nine years since Alvarez and Mayweather clashed inside the ring, and it’s still regarded as one of the most memorable fights in boxing.

Alvarez is already considering a rematch against Bivol to get his redemption. Moreover,  Mike Tyson’s son has already predicted this potential rematch between the two.

A rematch between Bivol and Alvarez?

The current super-middleweight undisputed champion has not kept his desire for a rematch with Bivol a secret since his defeat at the hands of the WBA light heavyweight champion. But, before getting to Bivol, But before that, Alvarez has to face mandatory challenger John Ryder for his homecoming fight on May 5.

But there is no doubt that Canelo’s management team will be working hard in the background to finalize the fight with Bivol that the Mexican boxer so desperately wants.

The world would undoubtedly love to see who prevails this time among the two.
