Floyd Mayweather Suffers Major Setback Against Jake Paul as Fight Tickets Remain Unsold Just Hours Before Aaron Chalmers Bout

Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. is ready to compete in his next exhibition bout and also make his debut in the United Kingdom. The 46-year-old has competed in five exhibition bouts since retiring professionally back in 2017. However, many have criticized him for choosing a far lower level of competition, including YouTube sensations Logan Paul and Deji.
Moreover, he will now face former reality show star Aaron Chalmers after his initial opponent Liam Harrison pulled out due to injuries. Despite this, it seems that people are not too interested in seeing the former five-division champion in action. In addition, a fan recently claimed that the O2 arena where the fight will be conducted is still far from being sold out. This poses a problem, especially considering YouTube sensation Jake Paul has a scheduled fight the following day.

In a Twitter post, a user named Adele Thorpe claimed that there were still many tickets available for the fight. Moreover, she even attached a video where it can clearly be seen that there were still a lot of empty seats up for grabs in the O2 arena. This comes just on the day of the fight which is surprising as many thought the event will be a sell-out.

Now, with Paul’s fight against Fury looking to do well on PPV, this could prove to be a huge setback for Mayweather. However, it does showcase how fans are losing interest in these types of exhibition bouts that have been popularized by ‘Money’.
Floyd Mayweather’s exhibition tickets are now being sold at a discount
As per TheSun, it was revealed that the tickets for the bout are now being offered at a 20% discount. In the report, it was also claimed that fans were getting emails from vendors offering seats at a highly discounted price. With the fight now being just a day away, many believe that this shows signs of desperation from the promoters.

However, the ticket prices still range from $168 to $1240 which is a little pricey for an exhibition. Moreover, the PPV prices of the bout are also more expensive than many professional fights including Fury vs Chisora 3 and Joshua vs Usyk 2.
