Floyd Mayweather Trains Claressa Shields for Her Next Fight

Self-proclaimed ‘GWOAT’ Claressa Shields is all set for a showdown in the UK on February 5th. She will defend her WBC, WBA, Ring, and IBF middleweight titles against undefeated Slovenian pugilist Ema Kozin.

Shields posted a video on Twitter that grasped public attention before her most awaited battle. In the clip, she showed her link-ups with Floyd Mayweather and wrote, “In the gym with @FloydMayweather! Feb 5th gonna be different! Make my words!”

In the video, ‘Pretty Boy’ was seen coaching Claressa Shields on a punching bag. ‘Money’ showed her the technique to execute smooth body shots. Along with it, he focused on the movement of the head and transfer of body weight on the feet while blowing the bag with heavy punches.

The patience and the distance Shields kept from Marie was a key strategy to help her outbox her opponent. She did not make a single unnecessary movement and kept ducking and feinting. Although the punch volume was low, the blows were powerful and accurate.

Marie-Eve Dicaire seemed afraid and her jab was lazy. Though it landed a few times, it didn’t cause Claressa Shields much damage, as it was quite weak. Her hooks were not well crafted and her body shots were missing. All-in-all, the Canadian didn’t show up that night and Shields ran riot.
