Former five-division world champion, Floyd Mayweather is undoubtedly one of the most decorated figures in the sport of boxing. And is also widely regarded as one of the greatest defensive boxers of all time. His stellar 50-0-0 record is, in fact, a testament to his pugilistic prowess. After retiring from the sport in 2017, he has been on a passionate quest to become the unrivaled emperor of the exhibition boxing scene.

It was recently reported that he will be facing Geordie Shore star, Aaron Chalmers, for a showdown. But it seems like the duo has a rather intriguing past connection.

Mayweather is currently on cloud nine after three exhibition victories in 2022. Notably, he faced Don Moore, Mikuru Asakura, and Deji, in May, June, and September respectively. He was scheduled to fight Muay Thai star, Liam Harrison, for his UK debut. However, Harrison had to back out of the fight due to a knee injury.

It was later announced that he will be facing reality television personality Aaron ‘The Joker’ Chalmers instead. Mayweather spoke about the same on an Instagram post, he said, “Different face, different name, same results. #London we are still rocking and rolling on Feb. 25th at the O2 Arena. Tickets will be on sale soon. Stay tuned!!”

Notably, Chalmers had featured on both ‘Ex on the Beach’ and ‘Geordie Shore’.

Floyd Mayweather and Aaron Chalmers have a connection

While the decision to pit Mayweather and Chalmers might have been a spontaneous one, It looks like the duo shares an interesting backstory. And that connecting factor is none other than fellow Geordie Shore star, Abbie Holborn.

Mayweather partied at the Livello Nightclub in Newcastle in 2017. The former champ and his entourage were joined by a few women. And the one closest to Mayweather at the party was Holborn. Moreover, the 14th series of Geordie Shore that took place later saw Holborn cozying up with Chalmers. Reportedly, they even had a ‘fling’ on the show.
