Floyd Mayweather is not the only boxer hailing from his family. The undefeated boxer had it in his DNA to achieve the feat he did in his career. He adopted his name from Floyd Mayweather Sr. who competed in the sport from 1973 to 1990. In addition, his uncle, Jeff Mayweather is a former Super featherweight boxing champion. Not to mention, another uncle of his, Roger Mayweather is a former 2 division world champion.
However, Roger Mayweather passed away 3 years ago, in 2020. The former champion was 58 years old when he passed away due to declining health and complications from diabetes. His death shocked many in the boxing world including. ‘TBE,’ who was also coached by him.
In a recent turn of events, a forgotten photo of the late legend resurfaced online. And many fans have intriguing takes on how the world’s richest boxer owes him a lot. However, there were many other fans who did not have kind words for him, to say the least.

A resurfaced picture of Roger Mayweather leaves the boxing world in splits
The picture was posted by @BoxingHistory on Twitter in which the legend appears to be shadowboxing himself in the ring. The picture is a great insight into his life during his prime. The post stated, “Roger Mayweather, aka “Black Mamba,” 1980s two-division champion later known for training his nephew Floyd Mayweather, shadowboxes for some media members.”
