There’s no end to the debate on Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson. Who will win? Is Mike Tyson okay to fight at 58? And so on! However, the biggest confusion seems to be regarding the gear and the rules for the fight. Jones Jr. fought Tyson back in 2020 in an exhibition bout, and having experienced Tyson’s destructive power firsthand, he has become one of the biggest proponents of the Paul vs. Tyson fight. So, while appearing in an interview with talkSport on April 4, unaware of the actual rules, Jones Jr. implied that Paul was shielded by fake regulations.

During the interview, one of the reporters probed Jones Jr. about how the rules, regulations, and the entire fight, for that matter, are being received in America. Confused about the rules of the fight, Jones thought the fight would have big gloves and headgear. However, he alleged that these rules were put in place to protect Jake Paul. “Why they put on 16-ounce gloves and headgear? They didn’t put that on to protect Mike. They put that on to protect Jake,” said Jones Jr.
