‘Who said men don’t cry?’, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gennady Golovkin posed the question to the world as they prepared for their nearing tests in UEFA Champions League and IBO/IBF world middleweight title defense.

Both the men have reached the pinnacle of their respective sports, beating odds throughout their careers. That said, ‘CR7’ is also a huge fan of the art of combat sports.

He recently remarked about his preference in watching an MMA or boxing fight over football in his leisure time. The football kingpin is reportedly close to several MMA fighters and boxers. One of them being ‘GGG’ Gennady Golovkin.

The Kazakh-born boxer is a global phenomenon, boasting a pro record of 40 wins (35 KOs), 1 loss, and 1 draw.  He is already a middleweight great. However, Golovkin’s humble personality outside the ring garners a lot of praise.

Ronaldo is 35-year-old, while Golovkin is 38. So, it’s safe to say that they are nearing the dusk of their careers. However, they continue to prove their worth with spectacular performances on the trot.

If we look at the recent scenario, Golovkin has unleashed 2 wins in 2019. The first one came via KO against Steve Rolls. In the second fight, Golovkin thoroughly outpointed Sergiy Derevyanchenko via decision.

On the other side, Ronaldo took Juventus to victory with two goals, against the mighty Barcelona at Camp Nou in their recent Champions League match-up.
