The magnitude of success which Floyd Mayweather Jr has been able to achieve throughout his boxing career is not something easy to do. The former five-division world champion has defied the odds to cement his legacy as one of the greatest in boxing. All of his distinguished traits from his peers are what make Mayweather Jr. a unique boxer in his way. And, even though many equate success with formal education, Mayweather Jr’s life and career are a testament that success doesn’t only depend on one’s education but work ethic and hard work. But, despite his success, many have pointed out Floyd Mayweather’s lack of formal education in their own ways.

In 2014, American rapper 50 Cent took very public jabs at Floyd Mayweather Jr’s lack of formal education and gave him a rather odd challenge with a lot of money on stake so that he could prove that he can read.

In the second video he uploaded, 50 Cent revealed he had a discussion with Talk Show host, Jimmy Kimmel. And, that the host has agreed to host Mayweather Jr if he agreed to read the page from the book. Mayweather Jr. did not react to the rapper at first but afterward responded by sharing a picture of two cheques worth over $70 million.

This controversy between 50 Cent and ‘Money’ caused a stir among the champ’s fans during that time, as many questioned Floyd Mayweather Jr’s education. And, cent is not the only celebrity to mock the former champ for this. It should be noted that Mayweather Jr dropped out of high school to focus on boxing. And, it is safe to say that his decision panned out for him.
