Last weekend, Jermell Charlo collided with Brian Castano for the undisputed super-welterweight championship. To everyone’s surprise, this bout ended with a tragic draw and the fans were left disheartened. Both the fighters gave their absolute best in this clash, thus keeping each other on their toes till the last bell of the 12th round.

However, Castano had a certain edge over Charlo throughout the fight, and it seemed as if he’d be the adjudged winner. But the judges scored this bout as a split draw.

Recently, Charlo interacted with the P4P king, Canelo Alvarez, over a video call. Here the Mexican boxing star unveiled some words of wisdom for the undefeated boxer.

Alvarez said, “Brian Castano, I’ll tell you one thing. For me, you won. They [the judges] saw a draw but for me you won, you bastard. What a great fight. I congratulate you very much.”

“Thank you very much, brother.” reverted Castano. (h/t Boxing Scene)

Right from the first second of this high-class bout, Castano was the sheer oppressor. He displayed some thunderous power in the initial rounds itself and tried everything in his hand to press ‘Iron Man’. The latter responded well and had his fair and share of moments inside the ring.

But he just didn’t seem to be on ‘El Boxi’s level. Castano was even on the brink of knocking out Charlo as he came out with a stern combination of shots a couple of times. With that, he kept himself on the top throughout the fight and a huge chunk of boxing fans favored him to win.
