Former Boxing Champion Who Slammed Will Smith’s Wife Catches the Attention of Actor Denzel Washington

Sometimes a sweet message wins all hearts. Something like this happened with a video message on social media when actor Denzel Washington gave a huge shout-out to the Cuban boxing hero Yordenis Ugas. This morning Ugas took to Twitter to share the heartfelt message. Ugas also thanked and honored the actor in the message. Denzel Washington, one of the greatest actors of all time, praised Ugas for his accomplishments in the ring, in return, the former boxing champion also honored him for the precious message with his post.

 Being out of the ring for a long day, Ugas had his eye surgery and due to health conditions, and recent times were not good for him as he lost his WBA welterweight title to Errol Spence Jr. last April. But the appreciation from a person like Denzel created awe in his fans. 

Denzel Washington gives a shout-out to former boxing champion Yordenis Ugas

Yordenis Ugas is surely a man who is known for his sheer aggression and dominance inside the ring. The 36-year-old, Ugas aka ‘54 Milagros’ is the former WBA (Super) Welterweight champion and has an impressive stat of 27-5-0. For such a champ, he deserves appreciation, and Denzel Washington hit that spot. In August, last year Ugas defeated the legend, Manny Pacquiao.

“Incredible when one of the best actors of all time knows about your work. That honor!! How proud Boxing is brave, I hope one day to be able to train together @OfficiaIDenzeI blessings,” Ugas said in reply to the video message by Denzel. Surely it is a great appreciation and Ugas knows how to honor that. 

But it is not the first time Ugas was on the news. He was also appreciated and caught the eyes of the media for defeating Pacquiao in the ring. He was in news when he spoke about Hollywood actor Will Smith’s wife, for the infamous event of slapping occurred at the Academy Awards.

After beating Manny Pacquiao in August 2021, Ugas made headlines in the sports world. No one thought that Ugas could beat the legend in his last match before retirement, but surprising everyone, Ugas made it true.

Also, everyone knows about the incident when the popular actor Will Smith slapped the comedian Chris Rock for mocking Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett, who suffered from alopecia, a disease where there is permanent hair loss. Criticizing Smith, Ugas said that he also has alopecia, and he did not hit everyone who mocks him for the condition. Although Smith pardoned later.
