Moreover, WBO, IBF, and WBA champion Artur Beterbiev’s dominant victory over Joe Smith Jr. have only added to the doubt of Alvarez being able to compete with the best at 175 pounds.
Many fans and pundits shared their opinion on Alvarez’s loss to the light-heavyweight champ, including former WBC and WBO welterweight champion, Tim Bradley, who came out in an interview and shared his thoughts on the fight.

After his disappointing loss to Bivol, the Mexican has now set his sights on completing his trilogy fight against Gennady Golovkin. The pair will face off on September 17 and will be looking to close their rivalry.
Moreover, his fight with Bivol has proved that Alvarez is not yet ready to take on the Russian, however, a match with Golovkin will be the perfect test for him. Alvarez has also been very vocal about facing Bivol for a second time, which he will most likely do in 2023 in a bid to further solidify his legacy as one of the best boxers of all time.
