An innocuous poser by Leonard Ellerbe seemingly became a talking point between fans and followers. All that the CEO of Mayweather Promotions asked was about the place where a particular fight occurred. He was responding to a comment posted by Jamel Herring. The former WBO super featherweight champion was responding to footage shared by Top Rank. It displayed a bout between 20-year-old Ali Feliz from Danbury, Connecticut, and a 35-year-old Gary, Indiana resident, Anthony Sylvester Woodson III. It was the professional debut for Feliz, a former member of Team USA.

Further probe revealed that the fight was one of the undercards of the promotions’ Saturday night event. It took place at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. Aside from the regular title bouts, the show featured a slew of undercard bouts.

Leonard Ellerbe asked, “Where are these fights?” So to Top Rank’s video, Jamel Herring tweeted that the beaten boxer, Anthony Woodson III, was all dressed up to play basketball but ended up in a boxing ring. So nearly forty seconds of footage begin with Feliz launching a flurry of combinations on Woodson, who immediately went down the canvas. Though he managed to get up within the referee’s count, his condition made it clear that he had no fight left in him. So the referee immediately waived off his hands, putting a stop to the fight.

The commentator couldn’t have agreed more with the decision, and he stated, “Referee Laurence Cole had seen enough. Anthony Woodson has a ton of heart. He’s got six kids, and luckily he’s gonna be able to go back home to them after this defeat against Ali Feliz, who comes in 20 years old and looks impressive.

A Debut Roast

Some of the users were impressed by Ali Feliz’s performance. However, many decided to take a dig and call out the apparent disparity between the two boxers.

Replying back to Ellerbe, the former super featherweight title holder shared that the bout was available for viewing on ESPN+. Otherwise, it occurred at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Then this user commented that the fighter who went down, Anthony Woodson III, must have been nearing sixty. Then, taking a tig at his dress, they said that he wore pajamas to the fight. Ali Feliz was rather toying around with him.

This follower, instead, cheekily asked where all the fights promoted by Mayweather Promotions were taking place.

This user wanted to know how a boxing big shot like Leonard Ellerbe isn’t aware of the fighter as well as where all fights are taking place.

From the initial tweet, this follower somehow found a resemblance between Anthony Woodson III and the central character of ‘Carl Winslow’, played by actor Reginald VelJohnson, from the famous sitcom ‘Family Matters’.
