Former UFC Fighter Rips Into Hulu for Stealing Mike Tyson’s ‘Life Rights’: “Just Blast It Out and Not Pay Him”

The streaming platform, Hulu, created a furor when it announced a series based on former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson. Many notable names in the sporting world were questioning how the life story of the legend will be handled by the platform. In fact, Tyson himself expressed his displeasure with the series. Moreover, former UFC fighter and podcaster Brendan Schaub recently mentioned that he will not be watching the series.
Hulu recently announced that it will launch a series titled ‘Mike‘ on August 25, 2022. It was reported that the series will delve into the legendary heavyweight’s life and career. And, the series will see Trevante Rhodes essaying the role of Tyson while Harvey Keitel will play Cus D’Amato.

Meanwhile, Schaub was hosting his ‘Schaub Show’ podcast. In conversation, his co-host mentioned Tyson had slammed the series. Schaub initially responded by taking a dig at the casting choice. He said, “That guy didn’t look like Mike Tyson.”
And, while also reading an article about the same, he said, “‘Hulu stole my story’, which is insane. How can they just steal his life rights and just blast it out and not pay him.”
Additionally, Schaub’s co-host mentioned that Tyson was very angry at the platform. Schaub responded by refusing to watch the series. He mentioned, “I would be too. Especially since the movie is coming out. The negative press on this, I won’t watch it. No chance.”
It is worth noting that Nate Diaz had also extended his support to Tyson on this issue.
Mike Tyson slams Hulu
Mike Tyson was extremely unhappy with Hulu’s decision to portray his life story. In fact, he even took to social media to let his thoughts out.

It was reported that Hulu had not paid Tyson for using his life story. And, through a series of tweets, Tyson accused the platform of stealing from him. He even compared himself and Hulu to the Biblical characters of David and Goliath, stating that ‘heads will roll’.
