The return of Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. has already had a significant impact on the combat community. Breaking their respective retirements of 15 years and 2 years, Tyson and Jones will lock horns in an exhibition clash on November 28.

The fight will not boast any knockouts and will conclude without a winner. That said, it is a sparring exhibition at its best. However, Mike Tyson already claims to have touched a new-record of PPV sales in the history of boxing. He posted a picture on social media and claimed the same.

It is no surprise that Tyson’s return has sent the entire fanbase into a frenzy but considering it as the biggest event of the decade, might be bizarre. MMA pundit Chael Sonnen has talked about it and has completely mocked such claims.

Although he didn’t cuss Tyson or Jones, he still put some valid points to write off Mike Tyson’s assertion in his recent podcast.

Chael Sonnen laughs and calls Mike Tyson an “Honest Man”

‘The American Gangster’s’ mic-skills have troubled several fighters in the past. It’s safe to say that he hasn’t missed a step. He mocked Tyson throughout his recent podcast and called him an “honest man”.

As Sonnen disapproved of Tyson’s claims of making a new PPV record, he also noted that no media houses have ever documented the PPV records in boxing.

He said, “Mike Tyson has come out, and he has told us as an honest man through social media known as Twitter that his fight with Roy Jones Jr. has broken the pre-purchased orders in boxing history (laughs).”

Sonnen added, “I didn’t know that was a thing. I didn’t even know that was a thing to have pre-purchased pay-per-view orders throughout boxing history. I didn’t know that anybody ever actually documented that when even after the fact. Time Warner, Xfinity, Direct TV, Comcast, my uncle owns a satellite. Nobody has ever verified the numbers in the first place. But Tyson currently holds the records for pre-orders. ‘Haters be dammed because numbers don’t lie’ his evidence.”

Amid all the rigmarole, Tyson vs Jones is still an attention-seeker for the entire fanbase. While we get a stellar exhibition on the main event, the undercard will hold some high-voltage clashes too. The entire event will be available on BT Sport, Tyson on triller, and FITE TV.

Will Tyson’s tweet come true following the event?
