Ben Askren is not the only MMA fighter making his professional boxing debut tonight on the Triller fight card. Former UFC fighter and veteran Frank Mir also made his professional boxing debut tonight as he took on Steve Cunningham in a six-round fight.
Cunningham was a professional boxer and had fought the likes of Tyson Fury among other talented fighters over the course of his career as a boxer. Therefore, there was good reason to believe that the fight would be a one-sided bout in favor of ‘USS’. Many predicted a first or second-round knockout for ‘USS’. However, that was not the case tonight.

In the second round, Mir came back a lot stronger and was able to land a few good shots of his own, especially towards the end of the round. Rounds three and four were a lot closer than many would have expected. Throwing power shots early on in the fight meant that both fighters were winded. Hence, they clinched a lot more as the bout progressed.
