The ‘Gypsy King’ Tyson Fury recently retained his position at the pedestal of the heavyweight division, after showcasing a sensational performance against Derek Chisora. While Fury was at his usual best, it is worth mentioning that the fight was majorly a one-sided affair. And, needless to say, fans were not too pleased with the fight.

Fury faced Chisora at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on December 3, 2022. Moreover, he put his WBC heavyweight title on the line for the fight.

It is worth mentioning that this was Fury’s first fight after previously announcing his retirement.

The rounds started slowly, with Fury pacing himself while getting the hang of the fight. However, this quickly turned around as he stunned Chisora with a massive uppercut. Fury continued this magic in the following rounds. Meanwhile, Chisora was seen struggling to land punches. But it should be noted that Chisora showed a lot of heart and pushed through for nine rounds.

In the tenth round, Fury unleashed a merciless volley of punches, prompting the referee to stop the fight. Fury was declared the winner by decision.

Talking about his experience fighting Chisora, Fury said, “I needed some rounds as I haven’t boxed since April. I felt good in there tonight. And felt like I landed my jab and landed some good punches. Take nothing away from [Chisora] he’s an absolute warrior. And an absolute British folk hero.”

Fury also mentioned that he was honored to have fought Chisora thrice.

Boxing fans were not too impressed with how the Tyson Fury vs. Derek Chisora fight turned out. In fact, they took to social media to share their thoughts about the same.

A lot of fans felt that the fight was a one-sided affair. Moreover, they mentioned that Fury and Frank Warren earned handsomely from the event.

Meanwhile, a user did not mince words while saying that promoter Frank Warren has ‘blood on his hands’. And felt that Chisora should not have fought Fury.

Similarly, a few fans were blunt in stating the fight should have never taken place.
